GOULD, HORACE 1837-1917) Pacific Grove (Monterey Newspaper Feb 15, 1917) Death Summons Horace Goold [sic] Had Been Resident of Monterey for Fourteen Years- Funeral Saturday Horace Gould died yesterday morning at his home, 616 Figueroa street, in this city, at the advanced age of seventy nine years and four months. Deceased was a native of Vermont, where he was born October 12, 1837. He came to Monterey fourteen years ago from Hollister. His wife had been dead for several years. Mr. Gould was a member of Hollister Post G.A.R. The immediate surviving relatives are four sons, C.O. Gould of Carmel, J.R. Gould of Morgan Hill, F.H. Gould of Hollister, E.O. Gould of San Luis Obispo, and two daughters, Mrs. Charles Libhart and Mrs. L.F. Parnell of Stockton. The funeral will be held from the undertaking parlors of J.K. Paul, Pacific Grove, Saturday, at 9 a.m., Rev. Frank K Burger, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating. Members of Fairchild Post, G.A.R. will attend in a body at the ritual of that organization will be used in the interment rites at Carmelo cemetery.
