(Pacific Grove Daily Review September 30, 1908) Death of Wm. H. Harding Wm. H. Harding, a native of the state of Maine and a veteran of the Civil War, died at his home this morning at 8 o’clock. He served during the war as a member of Company C, Eleventh regiment Minnesota volunteer Infantry. He was 67 years of age. He was a member of Lucius Fairchild Post Grand Army of the Republic. The funeral will be held from the late residence at 506 Foam avenue at 2 P.M. on Thursday, October 1st. Interment in the family plot, Monterey Cemetery. The funeral service will be under the direction of Lucius Fairchild Post. (Monterey Daily Cypress Oct 2, 1908) Funeral of W.T. Harding Old Veteran is Laid to Rest by His Comrades The funeral of the late William T. Harding was held from his late home 506 Foam street in New Monterey yesterday afternoon. There was a large gathering of friends to bid a last farewell to the comrade they had all loved. Lucius Fairchild Post, G.A.R. attended in a body and conducted the funeral, Chaplain Fisher officiating. The Sherman Circle, Ladies of the G.A.R. of which Mrs. Harding is a member was also well represented. A choir consisting of Messrs. French and Sargent and Mesdames Grimes and Barber and Miss Glosser sang two selection, the one at the home being “Asleep in Jesus” and that at the grave “Nearer My God to Thee.” There was quite a number of floral offerings. A large number followed the remains to their last resting place in the Monterey Cemetery. The pallbearers were all comrades of the G.A.R.
