Memorial service Monday for Dorothy A. Aerni
DOWNEY-A memorial service will be held Monday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m. at the Hillside Chapel of Rose 
Hills Cemetery in Whittier for Dorothy A. Aerni, a housewife and 46 year resident of Downey. 
She was born in Columbus, Nebraska, and died Aug. 17 after a long illness. She was a talented artist, 
painter, seamstress and woodworker. 
She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church of Downey. 
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Vern Aerni; a son, James Aerni of Colorado; a daughter, 
Jane Schichi of Downey; four grandchildren, Jason Aerni of Washington, Judd and Amy Aerni of 
Colorado, Amber Hruba of Montana; and one great-grandson, Layton Hruba of Montana. 
The Rev. Norman Stoppenhagen will officiate.
