Aguilar DOWNEY-Services were held Feb. 23 at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, for William J. Aguilar, an artist and illustrator known for murals and illustrations. He was 61, born June 24, 1939 in Los Angeles to parents Bennie and Rose Aguilar, and died Feb. 16 of complications from multiple sclerosis. He grew up and attended schools in Downey, graduating from Downey High School in 1958. He was awarded a scholarship to the Art Center in Pasadena. He owned and operated an architectural illustrating firm, Business Graphics, Inc., in Orange until 1974, and was well known in the building industry. Survivors include sons Lonnie Aguilar, Vincent Aguilar and daughter-in-law Lena Reyes; daughter Mary Ann Aguilar of Covina; brothers Alfred Aguilar of Downey, Benjamin Aguilar and family of Riverside; sister Irene Sanchez and family of Norwalk; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
