Aiello, of Lancaster and formerly of California City, age 87, born May 17, 1912 in Pittsburg, Calif., passed away Friday, January 7, 2000. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pietro and Geovanna (Russo) Aiello; his parents, Antonio and Vita (Cardinale) Aiello; his brother, Peter Aiello and three sisters, Jennio Norton, Dolly Ludido and Rose Cardinale. Also, his first wife, Dora (DiFonzo) Aiello, whom he married on February 11 , 1945. She passed away after 47 1/2 years of marriage on July 18, 1992. Mr. Aiello was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WW II. Upon separation from the army, he and his wife became owner and operators of several retail markets and a liquor store, all run by the family until they retired in 1973. They had two daughters, Linda Aiello Radar of Littlerock, Calif., and Claudia Aiello Anderson of Mission Viejo, who worked right along side of their parents. Along with his daughters, Mr. Aiello is survived by his loving wife, Jean (Tooly) (DiFonzo) Aiello, whom he married on March 3, 1997. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Mrs. Tami (Leaman) Edwards of Clovis, Ca., Mr. Brian (Cindy) Anderson of Aliso Viejo, Mr. Matt Anderson of Mission Viejo, and Mrs. Susan (Dan) Rice of Simi Valley, Ca. As well as two great-granddaughters, Sonia and DeeDee Edwards and 22 nieces and nephews, a numerous amount of great nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2000, at Halley-Olsen Funeral Chapel, Lancaster. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2000 at Sacred Heart Church in Lancaster, followed by interment at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Quartz Hill.
