She was born in Mexico. Mrs. Alken was retired after working as a chancellor for the Mexican embassy. She was a founder of the Ladies Catholic Society at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Survivors include her sons, Andrew J. Edwards and Bernard G. Edwards of San Diego; and eight grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Goodbody Mortuary, 5027 El Cajon Blvd., San Diego, with rosary at 6 p.m. Mass: 9 a.m. Tuesday, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1770 Kearney Ave., San Diego.
