CLARA DEAN ALLEN-HAMILTON Published: Thursday, October 21, 2010 2:44 PM PDT Clara Audean Coe-Looney-Allen-Hamilton of San Jacinto passed away Sept. 1, 2010, at Hemet Valley Medical Center, Riverside County, Calif., after a long and valiant struggle with illness. A memorial service was held Sept. 8 at the Community of Christ Church in San Jacinto, and burial was held Sept. 14 at Riverside National Cemetery. She was a manager at Edelweiss Books in Big Bear Lake for many years before relocating to San Jacinto. Dean, as she was known to family and friends, was born Sept. 26, 1933, near the rural community of Tucker, in the township of Gatewood, in what is now Ripley County, Mo. She is survived by: husband Fred Hamilton; a sister Juanita Wadley of Hillsboro, Ore.; a brother Lethal Coe of St. Peters, Mo; a daughter Terry Looney Smith of San Jacinto; a son Steve Looney of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and extended family, friends and acquaintances. She traveled extensively throughout the western United States during her life, and also performed missionary work in El Salvador and Guatemala. Her professional and services careers included: EKG, surgery, X-ray, research technician; restaurant manager; bookstore manager; priest in the Community of Christ; chapter vice president of Church Women United; and Native American Tribal Elder. Dean lived an eventful and meaningful life, was a friend to all, and an inspiration to many. We are blessed for having known her, and the world is a better place for her having walked among us.
