Death Suicide A coroner's investigation held Tuesday, Jan. 25 at the O'Donnell Funeral Home in Mojave by Coroner Stan Newman, showed Mrs. Lena Mable Armstrong, 63, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. She had been living with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Moore, across the Barstow Hwy., near what would be "K" St., if it extended that far. Mrs. Armstrong had been living here since November and had been ill much of the time believing she had a cancer although a medical report had not been received. She was found lying on the dining room floor by Mrs. Moore when she returned from a shopping trip. Lena Mable Armstrong was born December 20, 1891, in Mexico, Mo., and is survived by her daughter, Mrs, Everett Moore; two sisters, Lulu Edwards and Sue Lockridge of Mexico, Mo.; and three brothers, Charlie, Jess and Hollie Watts, all of Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 2:00 p.m. in the O'Donnell Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Lee Archer officiated and Rachel Hodges was soloist. Interment was in the Mojave cemetery.
