All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. �The Times� Newspaper, Thursday, July 12, 2007,West County Section, Page A16 Betty Ruth (Ommundson) Arth Resident of Oakland Betty Ruth (Ommundson) Arth passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2007 with her family at her side. Born in Alameda at the Tennant�s Maternity Home on October 5th, 1935, she lived her entire life in the Bay Area and was a lifetime member of Sequoyah Community Church in Oakland. Betty is survived by her loving husband, George of 54 years; and children, Linda, George and Ron, and their spouses, Norm, Judy and Teri. Betty also had many grandchildren, Brian, Rache1 and John Peterson, Allison and John Mitchell, George, Michelle, Chris, Carrie and Kelly Arth and three great-granddaughters, Ashley Mitchell, Audrey and Emma Peterson. Betty is also survived by her brother, Andrew Munson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul; and her parents, Chris anti Ruth Ommundson. Betty enjoyed traveling the world with her husband George, actively participating in her church and spending time with her many grandchildren. A gracious and hospitable person, Betty opened her home to countless friends and family over the years, and loved to entertain. Although she will be incredibly missed, we know that she is with the Lord now and waiting for the day we will all be reunited in Heaven. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at a viewing on Thursday, July 12th from 6 to 8 p.m. A service will be held on Friday, July 13th at 10 a.m. with interment and reception to follow. Both events will be held at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland.
