Source Unknown; 2 Jun 1955 One Killed, Three Injured When Light Sedan Rolls Over Nine Times Sandra Lee Barker, 13, was fatally injured Sunday at 6:45 p.m. when a 1941 Chevrolet sedan rolled over nine times before coming to a halt 132 feet from where it left the Golden Queen road, five miles west of Highway 6. Driver of the car, Harold Lyn Jurrey, 1818 N. Eggswell Road, El Monte told Hwy Patrol Officer K.R. De La Mar that the victim had jammed her left foot on top of his right, pushing the gas pedal down to the floor as the car approached a turn. The Barker girl was thrown 30 feet. Other passengers in the death car were: Phyliss Marie Penguilley, 12, Barstow Hwy and K Street, and Linda Lou Wilson, 13, 805 �I� Street, both of Mojave. They and the driver were also injured and taken to Golden Queen Clinic by O�Donnell ambulance and a passing motorist. Funeral services for Sandra Lee Barker will be held at O�Donnell Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 2 at 2:00 p.m. Later the body will be shipped to Tampa, Florida. She had lived at McBryant�s Trailer Court with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm W. Granston. Survivors besides her parents are two sisters, Mrs. Janice Louise Brinson of Mojave and Ethelyn Mae Barker of Los Angeles.
