Memorial service today for John T. Barneson
DOWNEY-A memorial service will be held today (Friday, Aug. 14), at 11 a.m. at Miller-Mies Mortuary 
in Downey for John T. Barneson, a Downey resident for 48 years, who was in the insurance business 
most recently with Cass Johansing of Los Angeles. 
He was born in Winnepeg, Canada July 20, 1925, and died Aug. 9. 
He was the youngest of six sons. The family moved to the U.S. when he was eight years old. They 
settled in the Hollywood area. He graduated from Hollywood High School and joined the Navy when 
he was 17. 
He married Joy Henry in 1947, and they moved to Downey in 1949. 
Survivors include his wife, Joy; a daughter, Debra Estrada; his son, Brad; a sister, Beatrice Pollock; 
and a grandson, Jason LeVine. 
The Rev. David Hall will officiate. Arrangements are by Miller-Mies Mortuary of Downey.
