Bell DOWNEY-Funeral services were held Monday, July 28, at the Downey Zrelak Mortuary Chapel for Charles R. Bell, a Downey resident for 12 years and a former laborer and truck driver for 31 years, who died July 24 in Downey Community Hospital. He was 70, born in Gardner, Massachusetts, Aug. 1, 1926, and was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in both World War II and Korea. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and Downey V.F.W. Post 2325. Survivors include his wife, Francisca Bell of Downey; daughters Evelyn (Walther) Baca and Zully (Julio) Giunta of Downey, Elizabeth Djukanovich of Hawaii; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Downey V.F.W. Post 2325 officiated. Private cremation followed. Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.
