Memorial Mass to be held for Clara Bellanca
DOWNEY-Burial services were held July 27 in Lowellville, Ohio, for Clara Bellanca, a former 10 year 
resident of Downey and homemaker, who died July 22 at her Huntington Beach home. 
She was 93, born Jan. 26, 1905 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the daughter of Anthony and Josephine 
Scaffidi Labrie. She lived in Ohio for 57 years before moving to Southern California in 1963. She was 
a member of St. Raymond's Church, the TOPS Club, and a crochet club. She moved to Huntington 
Beach in 1980, and was a member of St. Bonaventure Church. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip, in 1962. 
Survivors include two daughters, Nina Joiner Eager of Visalia, Josephine Rapcinko of Youngstown, 
Ohio; a son, Phillip, of Huntington Beach; a brother, Sam Labrie of Mansfield, Ohio; three grandchildren, 
Lorraine Suttle of Downey, Yvonne Rapcinko of Laguna Niguel, and Ed Rapcinko of Youngstown, Ohio; 
and four great-grandchildren. A daughter, Lena, and sister, Edith, are both deceased. 
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at St. Bonaventure Church, 16400 
Springdale St., Huntington Beach.
