Source Unknown; Date Unknown Elaine Ruth Berger, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, formerly of California City, California, passed away on Tuesday, August 19 2003, in Lower Bucks Hospital at the age of 71 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Elaine was born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 27, 1931 and graduated from Dorchester High School for Girls in 1950. She was employed as bookkeeper for Ace Venetian Blind Company it Cambridge, Massachusetts. She then relocated to Los Angeles when she resided for more than 25 years. She was employed as book keeper for Stores Protective Association and their subsidiary Inter national Adjustment Bureau. She was actively involved with Cit; of Hope and Foundation for the Junior Blind. In 1990 she relocated to the Mojave Desert area of California City. She was a resident o California City for 13 years and very involved in many activities. In California City Elaine served as secretary, vice-president and director of East Kern Historical Museum Society, president and director of California City Health Care Association, and held memberships in the California City Community Club, and California Museum of Air and Space. She was employed as bookkeeper for Plunkett Construction Company and CalCity Carpet Company. She was office manage for California City Economic Development Corporation until he illness forced her to become a part-time employee. She leaves a sister Eunice Robbins, a niece Susan Mutlu and nephew Brian Robbins of Levittown, PA. Graveside services were held on Friday, August 22 at Shalor Memorial Park at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made t American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 1910:
