San Diego Union; January 20, 1898

James M. Bowers, aged 57, a brother of ex-Congressman W. W. Bowers,
died yesterday morning of pnemonia. He was among the oldest residents
of this city, and for many years was engaged in the harness-making
business. He leaves no family.
