She was a twin born to Ralph and Florence Jones on Nov. 22, 1929 in the city of Los Angeles. The family moved to Montrose, Calif. when she was an infant where she lived through school years. She attended Glendale schools and graduated from Glendale High School. She was employed in office work and later at Universal Studios. She married Clyde Bragdon in 1949 and was for a time a Navy wife living in China Lake. Next, they lived in Redlands while he attended the University of Redlands. Recalled into the Navy during the Korean War, she again became a Navy wife. After service they lived in La Crescenta, Montrose and Newhall while her husband was a member of the Glendale Fire Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Her husband was nominated by President Ronald Reagan and confirmed by Senate to the position of Administrator of the United States Fire Administration. They moved to Frederick, Md., outside of Washington, DC. She enjoyed very much the change of living in the east and being in the middle of so much history. Returning to California they lived Arroyo Grande for a few years before moving to Big Bear. She had a long association with Big Bear, her grandfather having settled here in 1925 and her twin brother having moved here a few years earlier. Dahlia is survived by her husband of 60 years, Clyde Bragdon, five sons and their spouses; Craig, Randall (Diana), Scott, Casey (Tammy) and Kelly, also 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to her brothers, Clinton and Leeland, her twin, and their families. She loved her family and friends. A wonderful and special lady. She will be missed. Big Bear Mortuary, directors.
