Source Unknown; Date Unknown Funeral services were held in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Tuesday, September 15 for Louise Elizabeth Etheridge Brown, 44, who passed away at her Tehachapi residence on September 11. Louise was born December 26, 1953 in Pasadena to Glenn and Nina Etheridge. Louise was their only child. Since both of her parents were born and reared in Missouri, Louise spent many of her childhood summers visiting family members there. Both of her parents preceded her in death due to terminal illnesses. Louise was a great source of strength and comfort to them both as she was very involved with their care. When Louise started her college career her major was originally food science. She loved cooking and was quite an avid gourmet cook. After moving to Tehachapi approximately 15 years ago, she decided to focus on elementary education as a career goal. She spent the last 10 years teaching third grade at Golden Hills elementary School where she made a tremendous positive impact on the lives she touched. She was very devoted to her teaching, her students and her fellow co-workers. Her faith in God and relationship with Jesus Christ was very important to her. She was involved in Bible study with a few of her teacher-friends for the past five years. This was something that brought her great joy; sharing her faith and love of Jesus. She joined the family of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on May 11, 1997 with her dear friend and fiance Scott Woods and her daughter, Jennifer joining the family through baptism on that day. Louise is survived by her only daughter, Jennifer, age nine; her step-parents Marvin Moore and Rose Etheridge; two step-brothers, two step-sisters, numerous nieces and nephews and her fiance, Scott Woods. Louise was such a valiant fighter and faithful example of God's great love. She will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege to know and love her. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the Memorial Trust Fund for Jennifer, which has been established at Sierra National Bank. The Reverend Charles Wilkinson and Deacon Don Well officiated at the service. Interment was Wednesday, September 16, at Tehachapi Public Cemetery - Eastside.
