	Went home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2004 at his 
home in Newark, CA, with his family by his side. He was 56 years old. 
Born October 28, 1947 in Herlong, CA, he was a resident of Newark, CA 
for 25 years. His family and friends will miss his goofy sense of humor, 
love of classic spy films and even his taste in music - he was a fan of folk 
music of the 50's and 60's. Ralph was an avid reader, and when he didn't 
have his nose in a good book, he was planning Sunday School lessons on 
his beloved PC. A federal employee for 16 years whose coworkers will miss 
his encouragement and his friendly smile, Ralph's primary love was the 
ministry. He was a graduate of Western Conservative Baptists Seminary and 
an active minister for nine years. Ralph continued to minister to others 
throughout his life in countless ways - his compassion, patience and 
understanding will be sorely missed. Beloved husband of 30 years to Janice 
Burch of Newark, CA. Loving father of Stephanie Burch of Newark, CA, 
Brian Silva of Union City, CA and Thomas Silva of Berkeley, CA. Dearest 
brother of John P. Burch, Jr. of Houston , TX. Ralph was also very dear to 
his brothers and sisters-in-law as well as his nieces and nephews. Family 
and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 
24, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Evangelical Free Church, 505 Driscoll Rd., Fremont. 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in his memory to the Evangelical 
Free Church Building Fund, 505 Driscoll Rd., Fremont, CA 94539.
