Mojave Desert News; 9 Jan 1947 BURGESS VICTIM OF ACCIDENT Marvin William Burgess, 39, of 213 Curry Street, Tehachapi, died Sunday, January 5 at 11:05 p. m. as the result of a badly crushed chest received when the car on the Monolith Cement Co., private railroad, where he was employed jumped the track and smashed up. Mr. Burgess, born in Missouri, is survived by. his wife, Naomi, and four children, Bonnie, Randall, Wanda and. Emma Burgess. The funeral, in charge of the O'Donnell Funeral Home of Mojave, was held on Wednesday at 10 a. m. at the Tehachapi Church of the Nazarene. Burial took place in Greenlawn cemetery, Bakersfield.
