Published in the ARGUS Newspaper on February 14, 1996 Lawrence Cameron died of heart failure Sunday, Feb 11, 1996, at Washington Hospital in Fremont. He was 84. Born Oct. 27, 1911, in Minden, La., Mr. Cameron lived in Fremont for 20 years. He worked as an installer with the Illinois Bell Telephone Co. for 30 years. He also was a past president of the Homeowners Association and of the Linksman Golf Club, enjoyed golfing and woodworking, and was active in Junior Achievement. His wife, Fairy Cameron, died in 1995, and his son, Andre Cameron, died in 1988. Mr. Cameron is survived by his daughter, Letitia Cameron of Fremont; his son Murelle Cameron of Chicago, Ill.; his sister, Ardalia Young of Chicago, Ill; seven Grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Irvington Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
