Napa County Reporter, May 9, 1863

Mr. John Chambers of Chambers Valley, Lake Co., was thrown from his horse on the 
28th ult., and received a kick in the breast, which resulted fatally within half 
an hour. Deceased was a native (crease in paper, unable to read). He leaves a 
wife to mourn his loss.
