Source Unknown; Date Unknown Sept. 23, 1924 � Oct. 19, 2004 Funeral services were held on Oct. 23 for Thomas (Buster) Davis, who passed away on Oct. 19 at Minden, Nev. Thomas was born in Tehachapi on Sept. 23, 1924, to Chauncey and Maude Davis. He graduated from Tehachapi High School in 1942, and soon after joined the Army, being attached to the 526th Armored Infantry Bn, where he saw action in the European Theater of War in the Battle of the Bulge. He was later awarded the Purple Heart for bravery and wounds sustained. A career with the Los Angeles Police Department spanned 30 years with retirement on June 29, 1978. The last 15 years of his law enforcement career were spent with the Burglary Auto Theft Division. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen Ennis Davis, and his nine children, Michele Davis Centers and husband Bill of Minden, Nev.; Mary Davis Landau and husband Martin of Fountain Valley; Ann Davis Stepanian and husband Art of Hacienda Heights; Michael Davis and wife Kathy of San Gabriel; Paty Davis of Minden, Nev.; Joan Davis Ramos of Montebello; Joseph Davis and wife Jamie of Diamond Bar; Susie Davis of North Hills; and Thomas Davis and Maria Ducote of Hawaii; plus 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who were close to his heart. He is also survived by a sister, Pat Gracey of Tehachapi and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Chauncey and Maude Davis; a sister, Evelyn Catalano; and brother, Everett Davis. Officiating at the Mass of Resurrection were Father William Nadeau, Pastor of St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville, Nev. and Father John Gracey of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Bishop.
