Marcia Dixon Published: Thursday, November 4, 2010 5:04 PM PDT On Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, our dear friend Marcia went to be with our Lord. She had been living at Plymouth Village in Redlands since 2004. Marcia was born on July 19, 1922, in Los Angeles and lived in the area until moving to Big Bear. She was married to Al Dixon in the 1940s and they moved from Pasadena to Big Bear in the early 1950s. Marcia soon got a job at the Big Bear Post Office, where she worked at the front desk until retirement. Her husband, Al, died suddenly in 1980, but she continued living here until she moved to Redlands. Marcia was a 50-year member of Eastern Star and was a member of the Methodist Church for many years. There will be two memorial services for Marcia, one was held on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 11 a.m. at Plymouth Village. The second one will be at the United Methodist Church on Holden and North Shore, on Monday Nov. 8, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in her memory by the United Methodist Church. She was much loved and shall be missed.
