Source Unknown; 16 Aug 1945 LOCAL MAN BURNED TO DEATH While delivering a load of kerosene at Boron on Tuesday of this week, Leo Donahoe, well known dealer of the Shell Oil Company, suffered 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns which caused his death. While pumping the fluid into a tank there was a static flash which ignited his clothing and hearing his screams a man near by ran to his assistance wrapping him in a blanket. He was taken; to the Mojave Hospital where Dr. Harry Horoswill and doctors from the Marine Air Station did all in their power for him, but'Mr. Donohoe passed away at 5:45 p. m. with his wife, Vera, who is Clerk of the local Justice Court, at his bedside. Born July 17, 1900, at Baraboo, Wisconsin, he came to California 25 years ago, coming to Mojave in March of 1942. He is survived by his wife, Vera, a daughter, Colleene, a brother, John of Maywood, and a sister, Mrs. H. B. Voerding of Sinclair, Wyoming. The body will lie in state in the local mortuary on Thursday evening and funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 p. m. at St. Mary's of the Desert Church. Interrment will be in Calvary Cemetery on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock with the O'Donnell Funeral Home in charge. Pall bearers will be George Stambook, Ralph Lyons, Earl Miller, Allan Kelley, Sgt Bernard Puchalski and Leslie McMurphy.
