Ukiah Daily Journal, 05-10-1968, Pg 1 Ukiah Man Killed In Vietnam A Ukiah soldier was killed in Vietnam while engaging the enemy earlier this week, his mother was informed Thursday. Hazel Dunsing of 311 W. Mill Street Was notified by the Army that her son, Dennis Dunsing, 25, was killed Monday somewhere in Vietnam. He was a member of the 199th Light Brigade, 12th Infantry Pvt. Dunsing attended Fort Bragg high school where he graduated in 1961. He moved to Ukiah shortly afterward and lived here until entering the Army on Sept; 6, 1967, Survivors include Hazel Dunsing; his late father, Elmer Dunsing; seven sisters, Joan McNabb, Fort Bragg, Gladys Dunsing, San Francisco; Jacqueline Carey and Marian Butterworth, both of Redway; Shirley Piver and Loretta Fales, both, of Fort Bragg, and Patricia Syfert, Healdsburg; Seven brothers, Elmer Dunsing Jr. Ukiah; Mervyn, Redway; Richard, San Mateo; Gary and Russell, Ukiah; Michael, Santa Rosa, and Archie, U. S. Navy. He was the great-grandson of the late Kathryn and Frederick Dunsing of Ukiah and a grandson of Daisy Sutherland, Fort Bragg.
