Aileen was born in Lincoln, NB on February 8, 1918, she moved to California in 1936 and lived in San Leandro and Hayward for many years. She retired to Las Vegas 4 years ago. Mrs. Durden was a homemaker who loved to knit and crochet. In her younger years she was an accomplished seamstress. She also taught crocheting classes to the ladies in her retirement community. She was a member of St. Clemens Church in Hayward and a member of the East Bay Gem & Mineral Society. She is survived by her children, Karen Fisher of Sugar Land, TX; Charles Durden of Las Vegas and John Durden of Livermore. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Durden was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Kenneth Durden, in 2003. A funeral mass will be said Saturday, March 5, 2005 at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Lomitas Ave, Livermore, CA. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
