Humboldt Times Standard 03-20-1988

Services will be held Tuesday for Marie J Fales, who died March 17, 1988 in 
Fortuna at the age of 90. She was a native of San Francisco, Ca and a resident 
of Fortuna. Mrs Fales helped bring the railroad to Eureka by hauling gravel for 
the roadbed. Her father held the contract to provide the gravel for the 
railway. A resident of Fortuna since 1940, Mrs Fales had come to Humboldt Co 
from Mendocino Co. She is survived by her sons, Arthur Fales of Las Vegas, NV 
and Dave Fales of Omaha, Nebraska; her daughter, Irene Giuletti of Fortuna; her 
sister, Vivian Collins of Placerville, Ca; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-
grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 
her husband, George Fales, Sr in 1971. Friends are invited to attend funeral 
services at Pierce Chapel Eureka, on Tuesday, March 22, 1988 at 10 am. 
Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, Eureka
