Memorial service held for LaVerne Fariester
DOWNEY-A memorial service was held June 12 at the Friendly Hills Country Club for LaVerne Fariester, 
a Downey resident for 43 years and a devoted family man. 
He was 65, born July 11, 1935 in Rogers, Arkansas, and died June 7 in Downey. 
He was vice president of Triangle Distributing Co., and president of Cerritos Trucking Co., for 43 years. 
His involvement with Ability First (Crippled Children Society) for 15 years as chairman of "The World's 
Greatest Working Truck Show" was a labor of love. 
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Eileen; his sons, Fritz and Wayne; his daughters, Debbie and 
Theresa; his five grandsons, David, Austin, Tanner and Jacob Mahr and Adam Fariester. 
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Ability First, 2555 E. Colorado Blvd., 2nd Floor, 
Pasadena, CA 91107 (phone 626-396-1010).
