Source Unknown; Date Unknown A Christian patriot to remember The story of Harvey Ferber, a young 93, will be an inspiration to all of us who occasionally feel the creaks and pains of being a "tad" over 40. Harvey was very robust his whole life. Up to three months ago, Harvey would walk two miles a day in the desert come rain or shine. He was blessed with an original pair of cast iron knee caps and a five-way heart bypass. He took great care of both, living on a vegetarian diet and lots of exercise. Harvey liked to be known as the "Kaiser," giving honor to his German lineage. Actually, he was a red-blooded American through and through. He moved to the desert around 1970 and loved helping other seniors and disabled people. He had a great big wonderful heart as he was always involved in volunteering and financially supporting many different charitable groups such as Wayside Chapel, Shares, Kern County Commodities, Gleaners and the Salvation Army. After honorably serving in WWII, he became a VFW lifetime member and was always there to lend a hand to anyone. Harvey went on be with Christ on the evening of September 13. He died of pneumonia. Let Harvey be remembered for his willingness to jump in and help, his great respect for human kind shown in his countless good works and his open heart; always willing to love.
