Fessenden remembered at age of 82 DOWNEY-Former Downey resident Walter G. "Red" Fessenden, a native of Lincolnville, Oklahoma, died at the Ramona Manor Nursing Center in Hemet Nov. 26 at the age of 82. He lived in Sun City for 25 years. He was a meat wholesaler prior to moving to Hemet, and a butcher at All American Market in Downey for several years. He was an avid golfer, playing both Rancho Los Amigos and Rio Hondo Golf Courses. He was also a member of the Seven Hills Mens Club, the Bandit Club and the Cherry Hills Golf Club. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Weber of Corona, stepdaughter, Marlyce Faldetta of Downey, and stepsons Tom Spalsbury of Hemet and Kelly Spalsbury of Cleveland, Ohio; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne Bearden of Kansas. No services are planned. Interment will be in Riverside National Cemetery alongside his wife who preceded him in death last September. Miller-Jones Mortuary in Sun City is handling arrangements.
