Friends, family mourn George Anne Finck at 56
DOWNEY-Memorial services were held April 22 for George Anne Finck, a longtime resident of Downey 
and a former president of the Gallatin Elementary Parent's Club, a member of the boards of the Rio San 
Gabriel Elementary, East Middle and Downey High School PTAs. 
She was 56, born Dec. 9, 1944, the daughter Harvey and Stella Kaufman in Lincon, Nebraska, and died 
April 19. 
She attended the University of Nebraska. She left Nebraska in 1964, driving west to California with her 
friend, Jan Carson (who later became the godmother to George's children). 
She took a job with the Los Angeles Police Department where she met her future husband, Stuart Finck. 
They were married and raised three children in Downey. 
Survivors include her husband, Stuart, and her children, Jon, Catherine and Tony.
