All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. San Diego Union; November 17, 1870 DIED In the Sweetwater Valley, San Diego county, about the 7th of November 1870, Lyman F. Fisk, a native of New York, aged 38 years. Lyman F. Fisk was brutally murdered by unknown parties on or about the 7th of November, on the ranch of W. C. Richards, by whom he was employed. His remaines were not discovered until the 9th instant, and was buried on the 11th by his neighbors in the valley. The writer first made his acquaintance in Eureka, Sierra county, where he resided a number of years. The deceased was an honorable, highminded man, one of the noblest works of god. His untimely taking off has cast a gloom over the whole community here, by whom he was an esteemed and respected. Thow wert called without a moments wrning, May thy ashes rest in peace. J. R.
