OBITUARY: 
Born August Alexander Fries on July 15, 1884 in Sersheim Germany. Emigrated to 
the U. S and became a citizen in 1930 Soon after he drifted westward and on his 
54th birthday he was first employed by Pacific Coast Borax Company. He had a very 
good record of 11 years with the company. In August 1949 he retired. Due to a 
heart attack he passed away on March 29, 1950.
