Memorial services will be held for Barbara Funk at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, at the 
California City Moose Lodge.
Barbara Funk, a citizen of California City for twenty years, passed away on June 11, 1997 at 11:55 
p.m. at Antelope Valley Hospital. She was the widow of the late John Funk. For years Barbara was active 
in the community serving on many committees associated with the California City Moose Lodge and the 
Veterans of Foreign War.
Mrs. Funk is survived by three children and one daughter-in-law: Debbie Peykoff of Australia, Bruce 
Alvers and wife Marie of Arizona and Mojave Desert News staff writer Christine Dahl of California City.
 
She is also survived by four grandchildren: Donovan and Christopher Stewart, Nicholas and Kirk Alvers,; plus one 
grandchild: Alexis Micalah Stewart.
