He was born in Arnold, Nebraska on October 3, 1924 and moved to Fremont in 1961. Donald served in the Navy and was a flight engineer for 21 years. Donald is survived by his wife Bonnie, two daughters, Dawn Lunn of Newark and Starr Long of Palmdale; 4 grandchildren, Paul Avila, Sean Carson, Amy Stoopin and Eric Lunn; and 5 great-grandchildren, Alek, Siena, Nikki, Angeli and Sofia. His parents, Charles Gion and Eva Gion, preceded him in death. Donald is remembered for his love of working. He was nicknamed "Wheeler Dealer".
