Friends, family remember Charles G. Graef here
DOWNEY-Charles G. Graef, a longtime local resident and businessman whose career was linked 
with aircraft and investment, died May 16 after a battle with cancer. 
Born May 27, 1923 in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of John and Sarah Graef. In 1944 he attended 
Michigan State University, and entered the Naval Program at Ann Arbor. 
He married Mary Van Straten on June 23, 1945. 
He loved to travel with his wife. 
Survivors include his wife; his six children; eight grandchildren; many relatives and friends.
