The Downey Eagle March 23, 2001 Volume 9 Number 5 Friends, family mourn William Henry Griffith DOWNEY-Memorial services were held Thursday, March 22, at the United Methodist Church of Downey for William Henry (Bill) Griffith, a longtime Downey resident. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska July 11, 1915 and died in Whittier March 16. He was active in the community and attended the United Methodist Church since 1952. He served as president of the Downey Kiwanis Club, was a member of Masonic Lodge No 220, and was an Associate Guardian of Job's Daughters Bethel 17. He was active in reading programs for children. Survivors include his wife, Sue Griffith; his son, William H. Griffith III (Linda); his daughter, Sharon Hight (Wally); granddaughters, Kellie Lemon, Kimber Elston and Debra Daughtry; grandson David Clayville; and nine great-grandchildren. Burial followed at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier. Arrangements were by Rose Hills.
