Super Dies Suddenly Claude Garrison Grim was born on August 10, 1903 in Coggen, Iowa. He entered mining engineering, his chosen profession, in early years by working in Morenci, Arizona, for the Phelps Dodge Copper Co., before his graduation from college. He married Rena Verone Ferguson in Morenci on the 25th of September, 1926. Their union has been blessed by two children, Robert, who died at an early age, and Gordon Frederick Grim, who is now a student at the University of Arizona. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Grim returned to Ames, la., where he completed his studies and received his degree in mining engineering from Iowa State College. He was a member of Chi Phi Fraternity. After his graduation, Mr. Grim returned to Morenci but shortly thereafter moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico to take over haulage and production problems for the U. S. Potash Co. After five years with the Potash Company, he moved to Climax, Col., to become general mine foreman for the Climax Molybdenum Co. With experience gained over the years, Mr. Grim moved to Boron, Calif., in 1939 as Mine Superintendent for the Pacific Coast Borax Co. and shortly thereafter became General Superintendent of their Boron properties of the company. Mr. Grim passed away on Saturday, September 8, 1951 while on vacation at Garbersville, Calif., of a sudden heart attack. Funeral services were held yesterday, Wednesday, September 12, 1951 at the Pacific Coast Borax Mines Recreation Hall at Boron, Calif. at 10 a.m., with the Rev. V. C. Horton of Boron Baptist Church as officiant and Clara Galamore as vocalist accompanied by Helen Taylor with Sarah Jane Clegg at the organ. Temporary interment will be in Greenview Memorial Park Cemetery of Glendale, Calif. under the direction of the O'Donnell Funeral Home of Mojave, Calif.
