Grout, 39, San Bernardino, was instantly killed on Monday, October 24, at 10:40 p.m. 2:4 s miles west of Boron on Hwy. 466. He was working on a stalled car alongside of the road when hit by a truck driven by Melvin Bennette Christelman, 38, also of San Bernardino, driving west on Hwy. 466. Mr. Grout was caught by the truck body and rolled alongside of the stalled vehicle, then caught by the truck's duals and dragged 90 feet. The body was taken to the O'Donnell Funeral Home in Mojave where an inquest was held Wednesday, October-26, at 10 a.m. No blame was attached to the truck driver and the verdict was accidental death. Funeral services will be held at the Cortner Funeral Home in Redlands.
