Source Unknown; Date Unknown A Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday morning, August 28 at St. Malachy Catholic Church, for Charlotte Marie Gurule, 79, who passed away in a Bakersfield hospital on August 24. Mrs. Gurule was born August 16, 1919 in Placitas, Bernalillo County, New Mexico. She was married to Ignacio Gurule in 1942 in Los Angeles. During WWII Mrs. Gurule was employed with McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft in assembling radios. She and Ignacio moved to Tehachapi from L.A. County in 1981. She loved angels and enjoyed wearing jewelry which depicted angels. Mrs. Gurule is survived by her son, Michael Gurule of .Tehachapi; daughter, Judith Hubbard of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren, Christina Michelle Gurule and Laura Anne Gurule, both of Tehachapi, Daniel Garcia of Berkeley, Stephen Garcia of Tucson, Arizona, Rebecca Jefferies of Utah, Edward Garcia of Mesa, Arizona; great-grandson, Chad Jefferies of Utah; brother, Tony Martinez of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister, Bertha Buskirk of Nevada, and a niece and nephew. Mrs. Gurule was preceded in death by her husband, Ignacio Gurule on December 24, 1993. Father Godfrey Raffel officiated at the Mass. Interment followed at the Tehachapi Public Cemetery - Westside.
