All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. "Big Bear Grizzly"; Date Unknown Walter A. Hall, 81, passed Nov. 27, 2004, at home in Vista. Born Jan. 4, 1923, in Kansas City, raised in Ohio, he lived his last 25 years in Big Bear City and San Diego county. Walter had two careers. His first as a contracts lawyer for fhe Department of Defense and his last (his love) real estate broker in Big Bear Lake and San Diego. He was affiliated with Olde Tyme Realty in the 1980's, Spencer Real Estate in the l980's and 1990's, Owned Sawmill Realty in the 1980s and was with Pioneer Realty until he moved to San Diego. He was a member of VFW Post 7370 in Big Bear City for years and a member of the Big Bear Lake Elks Lodge. Pfc. Hall was in the Army 35th Infantry, 134th Div, Co. A. He received two purple hearts after being wounded in action in Metz the first time and wounded in Germany when with the 9th Army the second time. Preceded in death by his daughter, Dacia in 1997. Walter is survived by his wife of 30 yeas, Patricia, son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Tina Hall, daughter, Nancy Mangan, brothers Kenneth and Charles and seven grandchildren, Lon, Valerie, Ricky, Danny, Danica, Darlene and Michael. His cremains will be put to rest at the National Cemetary in Riverside.
