You dried my tears when I was hurt, You gave me love to keep me strong. You taught me ways of Jesus Christ, I know it seems as though you taught me in vain. For you watched me run with Satan And play his wicked games. You always wanted the best for me. But I chose a different life. 1 let the streets become my home, And the drugs became my life. Now I turned my ways around. And yes God is #1 in my heart. It would have been much easier If I would have kept him there from the start, But I could always count on you Mom To stand by me through thick and thin, And that's why I'm so grateful To have you as my best friend. Lamonte Hammond NOTE: Photo At: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cagha/index.htmphotos/kern/
