"Big Bear Grizzly"; Date Unknown Robert Patrick Hammond, March, 21, 1971 - August 13, 2004 Robert was born on March 21, 1971, in Westwood, Calif. He spent his childhood in both the Simi and San Fernando valleys. Robert moved to the Big Bear Valley in 1994 and spent the remainder of his life here. He enjoyed bicycling, fishing, ATC riding and of course being with his family and friends. Robert was very passionate in all that he did; especially his music. He poured his soul into his guitar and would sing his heart out to anyone who would listen. He spoke (and sang) loud and strong. He was a lively, animated person whose presence was always known. Most importantly, Robert was a man who lived his life with compassion. He was always helping someone in some shape or form. His big heart never let him say no to anyone in need. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt right off his back if you needed it or perhaps just happened to like it. Robert lived for Jesus Christ through helping others always having forgiveness, and opening his heart to all. On August 13, 2004, the heavens above opened its doors and let the rain fall hard. Robert saw that door open and knew it was time to go home to our savior, Jesus Christ at exactly 10:34 a.m. Robert is survived by his mother, Judi Hammond of Ariz.; his fathers, William Hammond and Chuck Miller, Sr. of Calif.; one great uncle, Cecil Hedrick of Calif.; two sisters, Dana Hammond of Ariz. and Gina Stewart of Calif.; one brother-in-law, Scott Stewart of Calif.; two brothers, Billy Hammond and Charles Miller, Jr. of Calif.; one niece, Catherine of Ariz.; three nephews, Scotty, Travis and Jason Stewart of Calif.; one godson, Charles Miller, III of Calif.; and his Big Bear brothers, "The Crew" Charlie, Dean and Chuck. All funeral services for Robert Hammond will be held on Friday, August 20, 2004 at 4 p.m. inside Gold Mountain Memorial Park, 370 N. Maple Lane, Big Bear City. Robert touched many lives while here on earth... May he touch many more while in the arms of Jesus Christ.
