The Downey Eagle Vol. 4 No. 29; Friday, September 13, 1996 Funeral services held for Elsie Mary Hanson WHITTIER-Funeral services were held Sept. 9 at the Rainbow Chapel of Rose Hills Memorial Park for Elsie Mary Hanson, a longtime resident of South Gate and a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church of Downey. She was born in 1914 in the farming community of Neillsville, Wisconsin, moved to California in 1947 and worked as a seamstress (power machine operator) for over 30 years at Cole of California in Vernon. Survivors include her son, Jerry Brady, an advertising representative of The Downey Eagle; three brothers, Gerald Eberhardt and Alvin Eberhardt both of Wisconsin, Roland Eberhardt of Oregon; her sister, Renata of Wisconsin; and two grandchildren, Jeffrey Brady of McKinleyville, California, and Erin Brady of New York City, N.Y. The Rev. Norman Stoppenhagen, pastor of the Messiah Lutheran Church of Downey officiated. Arrangements were by Rose Hills Memorial Park.
