The Downey Eagle June 22, 2001 Volume 9 Number 18 Services held for Wayne Clifford Harber DOWNEY-Services were held June 19 at Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary Chapel for Wayne Clifford Harber, the owner and operator of Desert Creek Industries, a heat processing equipment manufacturing company in Downey. He was born May 7, 1938 in Vernon, Texas, to parents Beryl Clifford Harber and Vesta Lee Curlee Harber, and died June 14 in Downey Regional Medical Center. He lived in Orange for 20 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. He loved boating and water skiing and going to the river. He also loved horses and competing in horse cutting competitions. He was a member of AA and was a volunteer for the organization. He also fed the homeless on Christmas and Thanksgiving. Survivors include his mother, Vesta Lee Harber of Farmington, New Mexico; his son, Clifford Harber (Yvette) of La Mirada; his daughters, Tania Haiman (Rick) of Oceanside, Tanis Harber of Medford, Oregon; a brother, Havis Harber (Wanda) of Dallas, Texas; sisters Wynona Williams (Jim) of Farmington, New Mexico, Gwen Atkinson (Dave) of San Diego; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Private burial followed.
