Nellie Angela Heaney laid to rest at age 83
DOWNEY-A Funeral Mass was heard Dec. 3 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church 
for Nellie Angela Heaney, who died at Berryman West Health Care Center 
Nov. 25.
She was 83, born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Dec. 7, 1912, and was a homemaker for 
66 years. She lived five years in Downey, and was formerly of Bell.

Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Heaney; sisters Sophie and 
Florence Lonczak; a brother, Ben Lonczak (all of Downey); and many 
nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Michael Heaney in 1976.

The Rev. Father Henry Gomez officiated.

Burial followed at All Souls Cemetery.

Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.
