The Downey Eagle July 4, 1997 Volume 5 Number 19 Former chief Theodore Rene Heidke mourned SANTA FE SPRINGS-A Mass was heard Wednesday, July 2, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for former Maywood Chief of Police Theodore Rene (Ted) Heidke, a resident of Santa Fe Springs, who died at his home June 26. Born in Mexico, he was 68, and had lived in Santa Fe Springs since 1973, previously residing in Huntington Park. He was a member of the Golden Trowel Lodge No. 315 F. & A.M. of Norwalk and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Downey. Survivors include his wife, Aida S. Heidke of Santa Fe Springs; and his son, Theodore (Ted) Heidke, Jr. (Delilah) of Huntington Beach. The Rev. John Moloney, was celebrant. Burial followed at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier. Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.
