Betty Ann Hickey (Markling)

went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Aug. 26, 2010.  Born in Brawley, 
Calif., on Nov. 16, 1925, she later married Thomas J. Hickey in Los Angeles, Calif., in 
1949 and had four children.  After moving to Big Bear in 1961, they had their fifth child. 
Betty worked as a nurse in Big Bear for 11 years followed by two years working at St. 
Bernardine Medical Center.  Later she moved to Orange County where she worked with 
the Red Cross as a blood bank director until her retirement in 1991.

    She is survived by her 5 children, Kathleen Scott, Michael Hickey, Ann Poland, Therese 
Ledger and Paul Hickey.

    A private memorial service will be held in Laguna Woods, Calif. on Oct. 1, 2010.
