Steven Robert Hovan, 83, of San Diego died Tuesday. Mr. Hovan, who was 
born in Cleveland, was a retired teacher at Chula Vista Junior High 
School. He had served in the Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth; daughter, Judith Ann Hovan of 
San Diego; son, Lawrence Stephen Hovan of San Diego; and two 
grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Lewis Colonial Benbough Chapel, 3051 El Cajon 
Blvd., San Diego.
