Source Unknown; Date Unknown Charles "Charley" Hubbell a long time Southern California resident passed away as a result of an auto accident in Palmdale, California on Tuesday, April 20, 2004. Mr. Hubbell was born in Wasco, California on April 5, 1929 and recently celebrated his 75th birthday with friends and family in Hemet, California. Mr. Hubbell was honorably discharged in 1950 after service in the US Navy aboard the USS Philippine Sea. Early in his life Mr. Hubbell served his fellow man as a Minister and continued to inspire many people throughout his lifetime. A noted musician and songwriter had several copyright pieces to his credit. Mr. Hubbell, was a Real Estate Broker and a well-known General Contractor in Southern California. Mr. Hubbell also built custom homes in Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, Texas, Tennessee and completed a charter communications building and mini storage in California City and continued to design and build custom homes throughout the greater Antelope Valley. Mr. Hubbell was a devoted husband, father and friend. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 37 years Yvonne Hubbell. His children: Teresa & Jim DeBryn, of Hemet, CA, Ashley Hubbell of Palmdale, CA, Kimberly & Bruce Farner of Slidell, LA, Shane & Elayne Hubbell of California City, CA. His grandchildren: Courtney, Leah, Jordan, Jacob, Priya, Carrie, Crystal, Nicholas, Joshua and Jason. His Great-grandchildren: Rachael, Conor, Maria, Teresa, Tristan, Jay den and Logan. His siblings: Bob, Vern, Mary and Rose. His son Randy Hubbell predeceased Mr. Hubbell. A memorial service was held at the Sprague building, 8001 California City Blvd., California City on Tuesday, April 27, 2004.
